Tester son module est une opération constante dans le développement de celui-ci mais les tests avant la sortie officielle sont primordiaux.
La phase d'essai est presque aussi longue que le développement à proprement parler. Ce n'est pas la phase que je préfère mais elle doit être réalisée avec le plus grand soin pour le fonctionnement du module sur d'autres installations.
En effet, je me suis incidemment aperçu qu'il me fallait modifier mes tests avant la sortie officielle. La tête dans le guidon, l'envie d'avancer toujours plus vite et paf ! On a zappé l'erreur qui peut empêcher le bon fonctionnement du module. Résultat , on s'est pris les pieds dans le tapis.
Je me suis donc résous à allonger cette phase en créant , en local d'abord, deux autres installations, une vierge pour l'installation et une autre pour la mise à jour (upgrade). Cela m'a permis de rectifier un certain nombre de bugs rédhibitoires.
Cette réflexion m'a aussi amené à me dire qu'il est préférable d'avancer à petits pas, de faire des sorties (releases) plus régulières.
